Founded on June 23rd, 2024, the WBL was born out of a vision to unite players, coaches, entertainers, fans, and our legendary Dream Teamers in celebrating the great game of baseball while reimagining what it can be.
The WBL isn’t just a league—it’s a revolution. We’ve taken the best parts of baseball and combined them with the magic of live performances to create an experience we call “World Baseball.” It’s competitive, it’s innovative, and above all, it’s ridiculously fun.

Reinvented
In the WBL, every inning is its own battle. The team that scores the most runs in an inning earns 1 point for that inning. Ties roll over to the next inning, ensuring edge-of-your-seat moments and the chance for dramatic, walk-off innings. Say goodbye to early-game blowouts!
Matchplay Scoring
Between innings, teams have 90 seconds to wow the crowd with a performance—think singing, dancing, or maybe even acrobatics. A panel of impartial judges or a fan vote decides who wins the performance point, adding a unique twist to the game.
Performance Points
Extra innings? Not in our world. Ties are resolved through epic and often unpredictable competitions. From home run derbies to dodgeball to surprise performances, our tie-breakers bring an added layer of excitement to the field.

Gaines Johnson
The WBL was envisioned by Gaines Johnson—a teacher, businessman, and dreamer who believes in the impossible. But make no mistake, this league is a collective effort. It stands on the shoulders of people like you who believe in the power of sports, storytelling, and a better world.

Vice President
Victor is part of the leadership team behind The World Baseball League, helping shape the vision, operations, and culture of a league that’s as much about people as it is about baseball. A Birmingham native and founder of RevSol Consulting, Victor’s a husband, a dad of four boys, and a big believer in the power of sports to bring people together in a fun, meaningful way.
If he’s not at a WBL game or cheering on his sons, you’ll probably find him camping, fly fishing, or squeezing in nine holes with a buddy. He doesn’t pretend to have it all figured out, but he’s doing his best to build something meaningful—and have a blast while doing it.
